We love pre-loved clothes in our house and my daughter recently found these Nike hi-tops on eBay which arrived yesterday. She looks for clothes which have, what she calls, a Retro Aesthetic.
It's fair to say that I am JEALOUS of these trainers π Little did either of us realise that I would fit into them... she was NOT impressed! π
Hubby managed to grab a pic before I was rugby tackled and the trainers RIPPED from my feet and taken back into the tween pit of a bedroom π
Many a bargain can be found on eBay and in charity shops β especially if you like something a little more unusual. It's always exciting having a look, as you never know what you might find. Your 'aesthetic' might just be lurking in a rail of pre-loved clothes!
I have been learning about colour psychology recently with @london_college_of_style, @julesstandishcolour and @tracyjaynehooper .... soooo interesting! I have really enjoyed this module on the course - I've learnt so much, and know there is way more to get stuck into!! π§
Our task this week was to choose an outfit for the current season for a friend going on a first date... I chose blue for communication, orange for energy and positivity, and green to calm the nerves π My friend would look great in this outfit... but who am I kidding, I want this outfit for me!! πππΒ
The research pieces are all current season, and would suit a warm skin tone:
Jumpsuit @greatplainsuk
Jumper @phaseeight
Jacket @amazon
Bag @mintvelvet@johnlewisandpartners
Earrings @branchjewellery
Boots @modainpelleΒ
This week we watched Viva Las Vegas. The colours in this film really pop! The costumes, the scenery, the lights of Las Vegas! And who would have known that Elvis and Ann-Margret were way ahead of their time in this scene - by 57 years! πΊπΒ
Not sure what I mean? π€Β
Each year @pantone selects two Colours of the Year. Pantone's choices are reflections of trends and the world around us. In turn these colours will influence and inspire fashion, products and interior design for that year.Β
Pantone's 2021 Colours of the Year are 'Ultimate Gray' and 'Illuminating' (Yellow).Β
The worldwide pandemic has affected everyone, and this is recognised by @pantone. 'Ultimate Gray' represents strength and fortitude, while 'Illuminating' is a bright yellow giving us hope and positivity for the year ahead.Β
Now, back to Elvis and Ann-Margret... Were their characters influenced by the colours they saw the other wearing? He was very hopeful and optimistic that she would fall in love with him, whilst she was strongly denying she would ever succumb to his charms πΒ
She did, of course, fall in love with him. Which should give us hope and optimism, to be like Elvis, stay strong for 2021, things will turn out alright in the end! π€π‘πͺπ
