I am a postdoctoral fellow at Seoul National Univ. with Jong-Seong Kug, and supported by the Sejong Science Fellowship. Before that, I was a PIURI postdoctoral fellow (POSTECH Initiative for fostering Unicorn of Research & Innovation) at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), and I completed my Ph.D. from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) with Sarah M. Kang, who is the director of the MPI-M.
I have been interested in the large-scale dynamics of our climate system, particularly on the extratropics-to-tropics teleconnection, energetic perspective, and general circulation. I prefer to employ theory and hierarchical models to understand key features of the complex climate system, our observation, and comprehensive models. I recently focus on possible catastrophic changes in our climate system by integrating bifurcation theory and climate dynamics. In close collaboration with Niklas Boers at Technical University of Munich (TUM), I aim to analyze the resilience response of climate systems and leverage this knowledge to gain a deeper understanding of future scenarios.
I am trying to love reading, thinking, writing, and playing guitar. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any inquiries or questions by email.
