This Privacy Policy explains how Yebegena Mezmurat (“App”) handles information on Android and iOS.
By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Yebegena Mezmurat is an offline-first app for reading Ethiopian begena hymn lyrics (mezmur). Lyrics and artist data ship with the App. You do not need an account to use it.
Theme and language preferences, reader comfort settings (such as font size), bookmarks, and recently viewed hymns stay on your device. We do not upload this data to our servers.
The App does not offer sign-in, profiles, or cloud sync of your reading history.
If your device has a network connection, the App may:
Show advertisements via Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ads). AdMob and its partners may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data as described in Google’s policies.
Send crash and error reports via Sentry to help us fix bugs.
You can use lyrics offline without these features.
We use information to:
Run the App and remember your on-device preferences
Show ads (via Google AdMob) when available
Diagnose crashes and improve stability (via Sentry)
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not send marketing emails.
We may share limited technical data with:
Google AdMob — advertising
Sentry — crash and error reports
Apple / Google — if required for store distribution
We may also share information if required by law.
On-device preferences and bookmarks remain until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
Crash reports are kept for a limited time according to Sentry’s policies.
Ad-related data is handled under Google’s advertising policies.
You can:
Change language and theme in Settings
Clear bookmarks and recent hymns in the App
Limit ad personalization in your device settings (Google / Apple advertising settings)
Uninstall the App to remove on-device data

We take reasonable steps to protect the App and any technical data we receive. No system is 100% secure.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data through third-party services used by the App.
We may update this policy. The effective date will change when we do. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
