What do we mean by divisible I hear you ask?
A number is said to be divisible by another number if there is no remainder after the division.
For example, we could say that 9 is divisible by 3 however 10 is not.
In this example 7 is not divisible by 2 because there is a remainder after the division, however 7 is divisible by 7 because the quotient would be 1 with no remainder🤔
Divisibility rules or tests can help us work out if single digit numbers (except for the poor old number 7) can be divided into large numbers.
Let's have a go together carrying out the divisibility tests on the below table with ticks or crosses. Use the divisibility rules printout that you have pasted into your book to guide you.
It's your turn!
