Purpose

The purpose of this chapter is to organize workers and students to fight for socialist issues and expand the socialist movement around the Weber State and Ogden area and throughout the nation. This purpose will be achieved in, but not limited to, the following ways:

Educating the community about socialism and socialist issues.

Running issue-based campaigns with clearly defined goals which will result in a better standard of living for the working class. These campaigns could include but are not limited to: Contacting local governments and businesses, organizing protests, sit-ins, and demonstrations, creating petitions.

Negotiating, endorsing, and volunteering for local candidates who support socialist issues.

Running public campaigns against candidates who do not support socialist issues. 

Participating in some, but not all, national campaigns ran by the national organization Democratic Socialists of America.

Meeting and helping students from other colleges in Utah to create other chapters to expand the socialist movement.
