WHO IS YOUTH DANCE AND ENRICHMENT?

Youth Dance and Enrichment, also known as YDE, is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, as defined in Section 501(3)(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. All funds raised legally must go to YDE. The IRS specifically states that YDE must not be organized or operated for the benefit of private interests and no part of a section 501(c)(3) organization’s net earnings may inure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.

MISSION

To support families by granting scholarships to help defer the cost of dance tuition, educational expenses, and fees associated with youth activities such as sports, camps, and community education programs they would otherwise not be able to experience. 

HOW

Provides various working and selling fundraising opportunities for YDE participants to perform volunteer work for the organization without expectation or intention of receiving wages, compensation, or benefits from YDE. The fundraising venue will issue a donation check to YDE for volunteer work performed that is divided between a general fund and a scholarship pool.  In return, YDE will then issue a scholarship check where the volunteer has designated a share to go to, the studio, sports association, etc. through a reviewed request process called scholarship disbursement.

Youth Dance and Enrichment. is a tax-exempt 501c-3 organization and, as such, files returns with the federal and state governments. Our exempt status is based on the premise that volunteers are not paid for their work and are not employees. Volunteers are not covered by any worker’s compensation benefits through Youth Dance and Enrichment and the companies for whom we volunteer or the organizations that receive donations.
