Hi, my name is Yen-Chen Pan (潘彥丞). I am currently an assistant professor at the Graduate Institute of Astronomy, National Central University, Taiwan. My research focuses on supernova explosions. I am currently interested in studying the progenitor systems and cosmological utilities of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) using various methods, such as spectroscopic and host-galaxy observations. I am also interested in other types of SN explosions, such as core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe) and mysterious and powerful classes called superluminous supernovae (SLSNe).

I have been involved in many sky surveys, such as the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF), Pan-STARRS1 (PS1), and Dark Energy Survey (DES). I am currently involved in the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) Survey and Young Supernova Experiment (YSE). Subaru HSC Survey is aimed to discover the very "distant" SNe in the Universe, while YSE is designed to discover the SNe as "early" as possible.
