I often conceive in my mind how I want to arrange the picture, but I will wait for the right time. For example, in my daily life, I suddenly find that this idea can be realized in this scene. I really don't go to shoot like a stage show or artificially pose for it. I think the black and white spirit represents a kind of "purity" and "strong". Just like Chinese ink painting, there is no complicated and pleasing color. It purifies the most basic elements of nature or the essence of various difficult things in life. Black-and-white images transform and elevate the reality in the world to a higher level of philosophy and abstraction.
Black and white photography is the best training platform for young photographers. I hope that they will not be deceived by the noisy colors, but pay more attention to the inner feelings under the surface and the more subtle composition and picture design. This time, the title "昼顔~平⽇午後3時の蚵仔寮⼈たち~" is the name of the adaptation of the Japanese film and television drama "Hiyan". It is about the cheating behavior of housewives after 3 o'clock in the afternoon on weekdays, and this time I filmed The content of can be said to be irrelevant, but it is a coincidence that every time I go to Omzailao, it will be after three in the afternoon. Because of my own course schedule and the fixed bus time on weekdays, it happens to cause my work to be shot in a specific way. Time and place. In different places and at the same time, there is an independent and common concept of time and space in it. Everyone shares time and lives their own lives. Independent of each other, occasionally blending. And the meaning of "Dayan" itself is the expression of the appearance of the world. If the topic can be reminiscent of another life, I think it should be very interesting.

Regarding life, everyone has their own views, their own lives, and their own attitudes. But I am often not clear about myself, so I really want to take this opportunity to take pictures of characters and take a look at the kaleidoscope of the world.
Speaking of the characters I want to shoot, the first thing that came to my mind was Barry. He lived on a boat in the Oziliao Fishing Port. We knew each other by chance when we created the Public installation in Jianhai last semester. He volunteered helped us a lot.
Although our language is not very good, we often smile to relieve embarrassment, or use body language to communicate and understand, but when I heard that he is from Indonesia and lives on a boat, it makes me feel very new and feel that he has a different life. With a cool life, he is dark and has long hair like seaweed, like a character in a movie. Maybe he has an extraordinary attitude towards life. Therefore, I want to visit him very much, record his life at sea, and ask about his attitude towards life. But in fact, because I was actually worried about my ability to communicate and communicate with others, and there was a bit of barriers in communicating with Barry, I expected the ending of the interview with him. Unfortunately, he was in the boat with another partner, busy at his work. I failed to interview him.
I looked around and wandering like a day ghost without targets. The fishing nets seem to have nothing to worry about, but the Oziliao fishing port is a place full of people, I have unknowingly photographed a lot of nearby fishermen and people in the seafood market, so I implemented my immediately planB and changed the direction to focus on the humble people and small details in the street or night market, such as the boss selling stew or salted chicken, the person eating night market snacks, the working fruit shop girl, and the the knight, the tea-breaker, the life in the streets.
It’s really a twists and turns on the way to shoot. I thought I was prepared, but the language barrier is really a big problem in life, or timing. The fishermen in Oziliao I interviewed first, everyone was either too busy or wanted to talk to you. Or when they find out that you don’t understand, they will lose interest and give up. I am tired and thirsty. When I was desperate, I met Starfruit Juice Lady. It was a young woman. Her starfruit juice was really sweet and delicious. She was also very kind. She kindly helped me complete my questionnaire. She is the only Omziliao I have ever met who can speak Mandarin. I am really grateful to her. She chatted with me for about two hours, and many of her answers surprised me. They gave me new ideas and feelings. I felt that it was worthwhile to take a picture of Omzailao.
In the case of reference, the things I refer to are Arthur Tress and Steve McCurry. In the late 1960s, "stageizing events in the lens" more prominently represented this trend. Arthur Tress can be said to be a representative character. I also want to give it a film-like texture and style for this work.
Although it was not deliberately taken during the shooting, there were some film storyboard scripts for reference later. In April, I visited Steve McCurry's photography exhibition in Taipei. I was attracted by his excellent shooting skills and exquisite photography. His creative methods and ideas made me fall in love at first sight. It is my favorite snapshot exhibition, capturing the natural reality.
