About me
Yassine Bakkar is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) of Finance at the Queen’s Business School, of the Queen’s University Belfast, and Adviser of Study for BSc Actuarial Science. He is a research member at the Africagrowth Institute and a Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF). He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université de Limoges (LAPE), MSc in Banks: Risks & Markets and Bachelor of Finance. He holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (PGCHET) from the Queen’s University Belfast and he is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK.
His primary fields of research include financial economics, financial intermediation, quantitative macroeconomics and empirical banking. His research focus interested in macroprudential policy transmission, banking regulations, risk management and corporate finance, with a focus on systemic risk and financial stability issues in the financial markets.
Before joining QUB, he has worked at the Université de Limoges as Lecturer in Banking and Finance, and at Tallinn Technical University as Postdoctoral Researcher and Postgraduate Lecturer. He has served as a visiting scholar at Durham University and Nantes University. He served as visiting researcher (Economist) at the Central Bank of Lithuania, visiting research fellow at the Central Bank of Malaysia and consultant and project manager in several institutional and EU projects, and got several research grants from e.g.: Institut Louis Bachelier, Robert Bosch Stiftung fund, ANR, Dora+ mobility, Erasmus+, etc.
