Effective Date: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MoStudios LLC (“Yap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Yap: Voice Notes (the “Application”).
Depending on how you use Yap, we may process:
Account information from Sign in with Apple, including your Apple user identifier and, if provided, your name and email address.
Audio recordings you choose to upload for transcription and AI processing.
Recording information, including titles, duration, language, dates, and speaker-detection preferences.
Transcripts, translations, speaker labels, user notes, summaries, action items, and other AI-generated content.
Subscription and purchase information, such as product identifiers, entitlement status, and transaction status.
Technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, including IP address, device information, request logs, and diagnostic information.
Communications you send to us, including support requests and privacy inquiries.
You may use Yap without creating an account. Recordings created in local-only mode remain on your device and are not uploaded for AI processing.
Local data may be removed using the Application’s deletion controls or by uninstalling the Application.
Yap does not send recordings or written content to third-party AI providers unless you first provide permission through the Application’s AI processing consent screen.
When permission is granted:
Audio recordings are sent to ElevenLabs for transcription and optional speaker detection.
Transcript text is sent to OpenAI for translation, summaries, and structured notes.
OpenAI does not receive the original audio recording from Yap.
Account-backed recordings and generated content are stored using Supabase.
You may decline AI processing and continue using Yap’s local recording features.
You may withdraw permission through Settings → AI Processing Permission. Withdrawing permission prevents new AI processing requests and instructs Yap to cancel queued or active processing where technically possible. A provider may have already received or completed a request before cancellation takes effect.
We use information to:
Authenticate users and maintain accounts.
Save and synchronize account-backed recordings.
Transcribe audio and identify speakers when enabled.
Translate transcripts and generate notes.
Provide subscription features and enforce usage limits.
Process account and recording deletion requests.
Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Application.
Prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
Respond to support and privacy requests.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
We share information only as necessary with the following service providers:
Supabase provides authentication, database hosting, file storage, and backend processing infrastructure. Supabase may receive account identifiers, uploaded audio, recording metadata, transcripts, translations, notes, and technical request information.
ElevenLabs receives uploaded audio, the selected source language, and the speaker-detection preference. ElevenLabs uses this information to transcribe audio and, when enabled, distinguish speakers.
Audio may contain voices, names, conversations, or other personal information provided by the user. ElevenLabs may process audio and voice-related data under its applicable terms, privacy policy, account settings, and legal obligations.
OpenAI receives transcript text and language information to generate translations, summaries, and structured notes. Yap does not send original audio recordings to OpenAI.
OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. API inputs and outputs may generally be retained for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days unless longer retention is legally required or different approved retention controls apply.
RevenueCat manages subscription status, purchase restoration, and access to paid features. RevenueCat may receive an account identifier, product and entitlement information, transaction status, and technical information. Yap does not receive complete payment-card information.
Apple processes Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases under Apple’s own privacy practices.
These providers process information to deliver services to Yap and are subject to their respective contractual, security, and privacy obligations.
Yap retains account-backed recordings and generated content until you delete the recording or your account, unless retention is required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Provider retention may include:
OpenAI API inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, subject to applicable settings and legal requirements.
ElevenLabs determines retention based on the service, data type, account settings, and applicable law. Its privacy policy states that generated voice-related data will not be retained longer than three years after the last interaction, except where legally required.
RevenueCat may retain purchase and subscription records as necessary for contractual, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes.
Supabase may retain temporary backups, logs, or records according to its applicable retention practices and legal obligations.
Deletion from backup systems may take additional time until normal backup rotation is completed.
Signed-in users may:
Delete individual recordings within the Application.
Delete their account through Settings → Delete Account.
Account deletion removes uploaded audio, recordings, transcripts, translations, AI notes, speaker information, and associated account data from Yap’s active systems, subject to temporary backups and information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or transaction-record purposes.
Local-only users may delete locally stored information through the Application’s deletion controls or by uninstalling the Application.
You may also request deletion by contacting mo@mostudios.io.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted network connections and access-controlled storage. However, no system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Yap and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live. Where required, service providers use recognized safeguards for international data transfers.
