I am Yanlin Chen (陳彥霖) from Taiwan. I am currently a Hartree postdoctoral fellow in the QuICS at the University of Maryland, hosted by Prof. Daniel Gottesman. Formerly, I was a postdoctoral researcher at CWI (Dutch Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science) and QuSoft, hosted by Prof. Ronald de Wolf. I received my Ph.D. in CWI and QuSoft at the University of Amsterdam, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Ronald de Wolf.
My research interests are theoretical computer science and quantum computation. I like convex and non-convex optimization, the advantages of quantum computation, and high-dimensional geometry. Currently, I am working on more efficient quantum algorithms for convex optimization problems and lattice problems, as well as their limitations.
Outside academics, I am an amateur magician. I perform magic shows and was the supervisor of the magic club of National Taiwan University. I used to play soccer and design games.
Here is my CV.
