Welcome to the Zhu Research Group
Welcome to the Zhu Research Group
The Zhu Research Group at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation is an interdisciplinary team developing wearable biosensors, smart biomaterials, and flexible bioelectronics for biomedical innovation.
Our research integrates materials science, electrochemistry, and bioengineering to enable low-burden, high-frequency diagnostics across tear, sweat, interstitial fluid, saliva, and blood. We design soft, skin- and eye-interfacing devices that quantify metabolites, electrolytes, hormones, proteins, and extracellular vesicles in real time and rigorously benchmark them against clinical gold standards.
By creating human-centered biointerface, we aim to transform disease screening, mental health monitoring, and organ viability assessment, ultimately advancing personalized and precision medicine.
