FINAN 4030 - Corporate Finance, as instructor, Summer 2021

I taught the course in Summer 2021. This course is designed to give students a basic understanding of corporate and personal financial management. The purpose of the course is also to help students grasp the framework of how a firm makes investment, financing, and payout decisions for firm value maximization. Topics covered in the class include corporate governance; corporate investment decisions (risk & return, cost of equity/debt/capital, measures of the investment returns, investments decision making, project analysis); corporate financing policies (raising capital, capital structure, and debt design); corporate dividends policies (payout types, theories, facts, and dividend decision making).

DESB PhD Summer Bootcamp, as instructor, 2021, 2022

I taught the summer bootcamp for incoming Ph.D students to familiarize themselves with helpful knowledge and tools for their Ph.D. studies. Topics covered in my sessions include Economic Data For Research, Stata, R, Latex, and Secondary Data.

This course applies in a case-based setting several of the core concepts of finance for executive MBAs. Jonathan Brogaard and I coauthored a case study about investment performance evaluation for the class.
