I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student at the School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University (SMU). From January to May 2026, I visited Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. I will be on the will be on the 2026-2027 job market.

My research draws on accounting’s focus on the production, processing, and communication of information to examine how political and macroeconomic forces shape firms’ decisions and resource allocation.

My recent works build a corpus of 30 years of shareholder proposals and use LLMs to decompose them into narratives.

• This work shows that proposal narratives are not boilerplate, evolve across time and exhibit a widening gap where stakeholder concerns are repackaged in value language as firms internalize externalities.

• This work shows that proponents' demand for disclosure nearly tripled across the three decades, and that both side's argument closely align with canonical accounting theories. In addition, I find that firms are more likely to request disclosure when they are less certain about the best practices.
  
  

I hold a B.Sc (2020) in Mathematics from Zhejiang University, China. I joined SMU in 2022 and received the Presidential Doctoral Fellowship in 2025.
