About me:

I am currently a Ph.D. student majoring in Physical Oceanography at UNSW. I started my bachelor's in Physics at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in China. Then, I joined a 2+2 BIT-ANU double degree program to study abroad. At ANU, I chose to double major in both Mathematics and Physics. During my bachelor's study, I joined several different physics groups to explore my research interests, and then I decided to study physical oceanography. I started my Ph.D. in Sydney (UNSW). My Ph.D. supervisors are Prof. Trevor Mcdougall (Primary Supervisor) and Dr. Geoff Stanley (Secondary Supervisor). During my Ph.D. journey, I have learned how to use fluid mechanics and thermodynamics to understand the ocean. I learned that the investigation of the ocean is mainly based on the numerical model and so algebra and computational mathematics are essential to study the ocean. Studying the ocean is not only for personal interest but also essential for the investigation of climate change. As extreme weather is more frequent in recent years, studying the ocean and climate is related to the destiny of human beings.
