If you want immersive, studio-grade over-ear sound for long study sessions with deep bass and superior comfort, choose YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100; if you need crystal clear calls in ear earbuds for study with rich bass boost and active noise cancellation for your voice, choose jechan Earphones Rich Bass.
• YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100: Its biggest strength is the 40mm dynamic driver delivering powerful, deep bass and sharp audio for musicians, but it relies on a wired connection without active noise cancellation. This pick is for students who prioritize pure sound quality and physical comfort during marathon study marathons.
• jechan Earphones Rich Bass: Its biggest strength is the dual-driver system (1DD+1BA) combined with AI-powered ENC technology for pristine call clarity, but it lacks the over-ear form factor that some prefer for isolation. This pick is for users who need to switch between focused listening and clear communication while on the go.
The YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 is built for the serious listener who treats their study environment as a sanctuary for focus. As an over-ear design, it wraps around your ears completely, utilizing a swivel mechanism that allows a 90-degree turning angle. This isn't just a gimmick; it is a functional feature designed to enhance comfort for long-term wear, ensuring that the headphones don't dig into your head even after hours of reading or writing. The enclosure is made of durable plastic, finished in a sleek black that looks professional in any library or home office setting.
What sets this model apart for studying is its audio profile. With a 40mm dynamic driver unit and a frequency range spanning from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, it captures the full spectrum of sound with rich tonality. The impedance sits at 46 ohms, which means it pairs well with standard devices without needing a separate amplifier, yet it delivers the "deep bass" promised in its name. For someone using open ear earbuds for study often finds them lacking in isolation, these over-ear cans provide natural sound isolation that blocks out the ambient chatter of a coffee shop or a busy household.

However, this headphone is not for everyone. If you are looking for wireless freedom or a device that actively cancels noise via electronics, this is not the right tool. It is a purely wired experience with a 2.0-meter cable that gives you plenty of room to move around your desk, but it anchors you to your device. Additionally, the lack of an inline remote means you have no physical buttons to control volume or calls directly on the cord. You must buy this if you value the "Make Waves" concept of emotional connection through music and want a classic, reliable piece of gear that will last.
The jechan Earphones Rich Bass targets a different kind of student—one who needs versatility and communication tools integrated into their listening experience. These in-ear buds are engineered with a dual-driver setup, combining one Dynamic Driver (1DD) and one Balanced Armature Driver (1BA). This hybrid configuration is specifically tuned to deliver a rich, full-range sound profile where deep bass meets stunning accuracy in high frequencies. The result is an immersive audio experience that feels premium, housed in a drop-resistant metal casing that suggests durability far beyond standard plastic earbuds.
For the modern student, the ability to take calls without lifting a phone is crucial. This model features an HD microphone powered by an AI Recording ENC Dynamic chip. This Environmental Noise Cancellation technology actively reduces background noise during voice calls, ensuring that your voice comes through cleanly even if you are in a noisy dorm or a bustling café. This makes it ideal for those who need crystal clear calls in ear earbuds for study groups, virtual lectures, or quick check-ins with professors. The noise-canceling structure also helps create a seal that minimizes external distractions, though it functions differently than the passive isolation of over-ear cups.
Connectivity is another area where this product shines for the tech-savvy user. Unlike traditional single-jack earphones, these come equipped with both a USB-C connector and a 3.5mm jack adapter. This universal plug-and-play design ensures broad compatibility with everything from the latest smartphones to older laptops. The in-line remote includes volume controls, offering a level of convenience that the Yamaha lacks. However, the compact size and in-ear placement might not be suitable for those who suffer from ear fatigue or simply dislike having anything inside their ear canal. It is sweatproof sleep headphones for study in the sense that they stay secure, but the primary draw is the blend of high-fidelity audio and smart call management.

After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 for a dedicated study session. While the jechan earphones offer impressive call features and a modern hybrid driver setup, the over-ear form factor of the Yamaha provides a level of physical comfort and passive sound isolation that is essential when trying to block out distractions for hours. The 40mm drivers deliver a rich, emotional listening experience that keeps me engaged with my material, and the swivel mechanism ensures they remain comfortable even during long nights. If your priority is purely for study, the Yamaha's design philosophy of "making waves" through quality sound makes it the superior choice for creating a focused environment.
Both options offer isolation, but the YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 uses its over-ear design to physically block out ambient noise, making it excellent for quiet focus. The jechan model uses a noise-canceling structure and ENC for calls, which helps reduce background hum, but the Yamaha offers stronger passive isolation for pure listening.
Yes, depending on your device. The jechan Earphones Rich Bass includes a 3.5mm jack adapter alongside the native USB-C connector, so you can easily connect them to older laptops or newer phones without needing extra dongles.
The YAMA6 Yamaha HPH-100 features a large 40mm dynamic driver specifically tuned for deep bass and powerful sound, which many audiophiles prefer for a fuller low-end experience compared to the balanced approach of the jechan dual-driver system.
