It is no secret that a Yale degree opens up many pathways to success. As one searches through OCS, CIPE, and the Fellowships database, and ponders how career choice relates to the good life, we must ask: should our society prefer public service to private enterprise? Considering the state of modern government, should we orient ourselves towards success in NGO's and other industries, or should the well-educated flock to civil service? What constitutes a successful life and how should we orient our time at Yale towards it?
