Quick rant!

Many of us website creators are just people writing stuff about whatever. We've been doing this for decades... doing this and that... adding bits & pieces... slowly making it better over time.

It started out as HTML websites. It was all very limited but that's all we had.

Along comes Google Sites (classic) and it's not quite HTML but we can adapt here and there. And there's that little "html" button for inserting our original articles and documents. Ok, it didn't display everything correctly so a lot of re-formatting had to be done.

Along comes New Google Sites. The "convert site" option doesn't really display things properly. Luckily, there's the "Insert \ Embed" with "Embed Code" which is a convenient place to dump in the previous HTML. Yes, we have to re-format again but it's mainly stretching out the bottom of the box to fit in everything.

We can see why there's New Google Sites. It integrates all the Googley stuff into one display... but us old creators have to re-do it all again. Some of us have tons of stuff. Honestly, I don't see why we can't keep the Classic Google Sites and still have the new... maybe re-named as Google Pages or Billboard.
