I have McAfee Security 2009 and somehow it started to block Yahoo messenger, Yahoo mail and all other pages related to Yahoo. The only way I can fix this is if I go into the control panel and disable the email and IM settings. Up until this morning all these things worked fine and weren't blocked but today I couldn't get into my Messenger, yahoo email or visit any Yahoo related web pages.

I click on the tab (envelope) in my messenger to go to my mail and it asks me to sign in...never did that before. He even went as far as to change his password but it still kicked him back to the main (homepage) website to "check mail". but assuming you want the actual Yahoo Messenger, the Yahoo Messenger running with Wine does not work (tested myself right now) and the Linux version for it is very old and gave me a weird error. For the time being, you can use the alternative like Empathy, Pidgin and any other messenger that supports the Yahoo protocol. I had the same issue a few years back which prompted me to use gmail as it is easier to use and definitely more reliable than yahoo mail.

Yahoo gets that issue when they are updating their servers or moving files or changing codes which would make you think that they are not using back up servers and the likes.

Never had that issue with gmail.

When I signed up with that yahoo account I used false informatio that I didnt write down. Yahoo customer service is worthless. I have been trying to learn how to hack just to get my own email account back.

I did whois on this domain and it's registered to someone in Japan.

I realized that this might be phishing and confirmed it using a network tcp packet sniffer to watch the http traffic. I changed my password immediately, so I should be ok.
