Nur Yağmur Demir
Ph.D. candidate, Applied Linguistics
Northern Arizona University
Hello!
I am a doctoral candidate in applied linguistics and a graduate teaching assistant at Northern Arizona University.
My research focuses on the language of AI, corpus linguistics, register variation, computer-mediated communication, and pragmatics. I primarily use quantitative methods, complemented by qualitative insights. I frequently work with tools such as R, Python, SPSS and MAXQDA to analyze linguistic data.
I have taught university-level courses in linguistics and composition, as well as English and Turkish as foreign languages. I regularly present my research at national and international conferences and actively contribute to my academic community through service roles within my program, institution, and broader academic events.
