You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out: Just TRY!
The start of January feels like the perfect time to take a deep breath and remind ourselves that progress doesn’t require perfection.
When I think of successful people, I’m reminded of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. She’s a celebrated author today, But her journey started with uncertainty. In a speech she gave on the "power of storytelling" she shared the story of how she left medical school and took the SATs leading to her scholarship to further her education in the US. She knew it might not have worked out and that she might not have gotten the scholarship, but she still wanted to TRY. She didn't have everything figured out, but she gave it a TRY regardless.
Her story reminds me that greatness often starts small. You may be uncertain, but still GIVE IT A TRY! Maybe it’s writing that first sentence, launching a project with limited resources, or taking a leap even when the future feels uncertain.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.
Sometimes, we’re tempted to wait until everything is perfect. We wait for a bigger budget, better tools, or the ‘right’ time. But the truth is, starting with the little you have and doing the little you can is often the spark that ignites something extraordinary.
So here’s a reminder to myself and you: Use what you have! Do what you can! And take that first step, no matter how small it feels.
JUST TRY!
