I am an assistant professor at the Economics and Finance Department at Javeriana University in Cali. I obtained my PhD in Economics from the University of Essex, in the UK 2016. My research interests are Welfare and Poverty Measurement, Health Economics, and Regional Development.
I have worked for the Colombian government and many other developing countries' governments as a consultant hired by multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, the IADB, and the UNDP, on social protection, program evaluation, targeting tools, and poverty measurement topics. Former Deputy Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning at the Planning Secretariat of Bogotá City.
I have served on several boards and expert committees in Colombia. I am currently a member of the National Planning Department’s committees on the Universal Income Registry and child poverty measurement, as well as Fundación Alpina’s committee on monitoring and evaluation. Previously, I served on the poverty measurement committee at the National Statistics Department (DANE) and the Board of Trustees of Invest in Bogotá.
