Yadavary seeks to increase the quality of life of the local homeless population in Los Angeles through service and research. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, the number of deaths among the homeless has doubled from 2013 to 2017: A County Department of Mental Health report stated that a significant portion of those deaths are believed to be caused by preventable medical conditions. Yadavary uses a hyperlocal approach to make personal connections with homeless individuals in the direct vicinity of undergraduate campuses in order to learn each person's story and needs. It is our hope that through research and service, Yadavary can make a real difference in the lives of those most vulnerable.
NOTICE: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Yadavary at USC has decided to suspend all activities until further notice. We care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of all of our community members and it is with this in mind that we have decided to discontinue all service and research projects indefinitely. We are hopeful and look forward to once again serving our community and local homeless population as soon as we can do so safely.
