I work as a multidisciplinary artist and environmental advocate who uses creative storytelling, scientific knowledge, and community engagement to inspire action at the intersection of art, climate justice, and public health.
Yumarlin Rodriguez, (Yumi), is a multidisciplinary professional working at the intersection of art, environmental advocacy, and community health. Her experience spans circus arts, fine arts, multimedia, veterinary medicine, mental health, and climate justice. She combines these diverse skills to expand arts access for marginalized communities, especially those at the forefront of climate change. As an arts administrator and muralist for the Audubon Mural Project in New York City, she has used public art to inspire community engagement around wildlife conservation. Her broader work includes teaching yoga, caring for animals as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, supporting primate research, and leading the social circus project Circ of Humankind. Yumi holds a Veterinary Technology degree from CUNY LaGuardia Community College (2013), a BFA degree from The Cooper Union’s School for the Advancement of Art and Science (2022) and an MA from Columbia University's Climate School (2024).
