Call for Participations

Deadline for applications: April 22, 2022

Applications should be made by filling the application form available by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page, and should include:

1. A cover letter, detailing the applicant's motivations for applying

2. A CV, to assess the suitability of each applicant's background for the school

Notification of acceptance is expected no later than April 29, 2022.

Keep in mind that the school will be in hybrid format (in-person/online) so you will have to specify your preference in this regard on the application form.

The Call for Abstracts is officially closed

This year, we wish to offer three young researchers interested in Dualities in Physics and Philosophy the opportunity to test their skills by presenting their original papers to the other participants in a dedicated workshop at the end of the school. Interested graduate students, postgraduates, and early researchers (PhD degree obtained after January 2017) are invited to submit an abstract.

If you wish to speak at the workshop, please respond accordingly to the relevant question in the application form and also send:

1. An abstract no longer than 1000 words and prepared for blind review

2. A title page containing info about the author(s) and highlighting the speaker

Please note that for participants selected to present at the workshop, the school is free of charge. This exemption applies only to the actual student-speakers and not to any co-author(s). Also, speakers at the workshop are expected to attend the school in person, not online, unless there are specific concerns regarding participating in person.

Accepted participants (except for speakers at the end-of-school workshop) must transfer 70.00 Euros (if attending in person)/30.00 Euros (if attending online) to SILFS before the 20th of May 2022.

Payment includes program attendance, school materials, and coffee break refreshments. Please note that accommodation, lunch, and dinner are NOT included.

On Wednesday, June 8th we will have the social dinner of the school. All participants are warmly invited to participate!

Please specify in the application form whether or not you wish to join us for the social dinner, and if you have any food allergies/dietary restrictions/dietary preferences.

The dinner will take place in a restaurant in Urbino, and it will cost around 20/30 Euros. Please note that the cost of the dinner is not included in your participation fee, and you will have to pay for it separately.
