Infinite Chair Maker is a rule-based procedural modeling system that generates chair designs compatible with 3D printing.
This project envisions an automated chair manufacturing pipeline, which will seamlessly connect the conceptual design process with digital modeling and 3D-print manufacturing.
This project was part of an advanced research course at KTH (DD2470 Advanced Topics in Visualization and Computer Graphics).

User Study
Our project experimented with the following pipeline:
Conceptual design & manual modeling: Yuqing's chair design that combined her original character "iiwii" and inspirations from Chinese Chan (Zen) chairs.
Procedural modeling: Xuehua implementing a rule-based procedural modeling algorithm. The algorithm followed design rules defined by Yuqing, and allowed custom modification of the parameters.
3D printing tests: 3D printing and assembling chair prototypes.
