During the doctoral stay in Vienna
I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), awarded in 2021. Since September 2023, I have been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Donostia/San Sebastian.
My doctoral thesis, “Non-local Regularisations of Scalar Conservation Laws”, focused on nonlinear and nonlocal partial differential equations in fluid mechanics, under the supervision of Prof. Carlota Cuesta. This work resulted in three published papers. Alongside this line of research on nonlocal conservation laws, I have progressively expanded my focus to the quantitative data analysis of socioeconomic phenomena, providing statistical and econometric support within interdisciplinary projects.
In recent years, I have been actively involved in several contracts on “The resilience of cooperative employment” and “Cooperative entrepreneurship” and a project “Sport and Social Economy” funded by Gipuzkoa’s Regional Government. My main contribution lies in the design and implementation of rigorous data analysis methods to study cooperative dynamics and employment resilience within the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE). I plan to continue this research within the GEZKI Research Institute, focusing on the empirical analysis of the SSE through advanced statistical and econometric techniques.
Beyond research and since 2021, I have taught at UPV/EHU, first in the department of Mathematics and now in the department of Applied Economics. I have also supervised undergraduate dissertations and delivered GeoGebra training courses for teachers at UEU. Finally, I am also involved in mathematical outreach, collaborating with the University of Luxembourg on a visual mathematical dictionary for young students.
