La Parigné

XSR 900

The XSR 900 Owner's Club vous présente "La Parigné".

Le Concierge et L'Artisan Sellier.

The "Parigné" is an XSR 900 saddle modified and saddled by hand by a French craftsman located near the town of Parigné l'évecque, a small village near the famous circuit of 24 hours of Le Mans.

Child of the region and passionate about cars and motorcycles, our saddler is a recognized craftsman of the region. It was with his help and patience that our concierge was able to design the first 3 prototypes dedicated to the XSR Owner's Club.

From these first prototypes was born the model "La Parigné" with reference to its region of origin.

La Parigné X

The X version have one more band for the second seat and the stitching end on the very back end.

By default, the Parigné option X is composed the black "Gloss Black"

Les Prototypes.

the first prototype represents the model "Parigné" finition 60 edition "Red Bar" . The goal was to directly integrate a CE-approved LED bar at the back of the seat. During the various tests, the LED bar kept coming off, until I ended up staining the saddle with the only glue that worked.

Our mistake was to stick the LED directly on the imitation leather.

Thus the finish will no longer be as in the following picture, With the yellow below the LED.

The second prototype is the same model than prototype 1 but with a new LED bar fixation system, this is our final choice to integrate the LED Bar in the seat.

We recommand to add few point of strong glue in addition to the 3M extrem supplied with the seat package.

The disadvantage is that requires us to cut the seat shell to bolt the metal bar, so more labor and supply and the price is higher than originally planned. The advantage is that the bar is easily removable, and therefore more easily for maintenance on the LED bar, or even imagine to integrate another rear light into the saddle, the operation is then much more easyer.

We also provide 2 tiny serflex that will keep everything in place for a long time (not present on this photo).

In any case, both with and without the X option, the LED bar will now be glued and hooked directly to an aluminum bar integrated at the back of the saddle.

Finally we finished the third prototype, to repeat one last time the opertation and validate the production process, also to give another view of the "Parigné".

The following 3 photos represent the model "Parigné" finition "Classique" edition "Black Woods"

Les Tests

    • 1 - Endurance Test: Approuved, I ride thi seat over 4000 kilometers, under the rain, under the sun, at high speed on the highway, on degraded roads, on long trip and in Paris! The seat is as if it was just made, everything in place, the LED bar is sticked at the back.
    • 2 - Maintenance Tests: Approuved, it is easy to remove the seat, change the rear light or even adapt a new one one the integrated metal bar, I had more ideas to increase the size of the metal bar to play on colors, but we will see that later on in a "Do it yourself" article.
    • 3 - Light Brightness: Approuved, first the bar is homologated, secondly it is brighter than the OAM rear light.
    • 4 - Final look: Approuved, first because I designed it, secondly because taste and colors are not to discuss, you like it or not, it'is life and it is good. Also I confirm that I get more compliment since I have this saddle than before, also more like on the social media, maybe means nothing, maybe not.

To conclude, I am very satisfied with this first product, the Artisan make a great job, and comments on social media help us to improve and continu this adventure. We integrate the needs of comfort with the spirale option and the gel option.
