I am preparing to upgrade my machine and do a clean install of Windows 11. I did some searches and found out that the drivers I have for my X-Rite i1 Display Pro are a couple of years out of date and don't work with Windows 11. According to this X-rite/Calibrate page I need version 3.5.0 or higher.

This ZIP file contains USB drivers for the i1 family of instruments. Download the file to a temporary folder on your hard drive and then unzip the package. When you attach your instrument to the computer and the "New Hardware" wizard starts, point it to this folder for the appropriate drivers. When the wizard completes, it is safe to remove the temporary folder as Windows copies the required files into its system folders.

I started with a new build PC, and a fresh Windows 8 - 64 bit installation from base.

The base information, drivers etc. as needed still can be found at the X-Rite website.

X-Rite "Pulse Color Elite System"

X-Rite "Monaco Optix XR" if people are using this device only as a screen calibration.

At both X-Rite support pages, the needed driver can be downloaded.

You need the Unified 32 & 64-Bit Drivers, 98, 2000, XP, & Vista v3.1.0.0 driver

That's the only thing you need if you have still your original software from previous usage.

- Extract/unpack the v3.1.0.0 driver ZIP-file (using Windows 8 base un-zipper or Winrar utility)

As it is an old driver without Win8 certification, we have to install the driver in a mode, that certification control is not used (off). A few lines further described (Win8 has to be rebooted).

After you are in again in Window 8, go to the device manager, looking for the X-Rite DTP94

- Properties ----> tab updating drivers / program

- Window showing up ----> Second Option: "Looking at PC for driver"

- Go to the directory where you have extracted the Unified 32/64 bit v3.1.0.0 driver

- install

I happened to change the m.2 that came with mine and reinstalling windows right away but when downloading drivers I noticed I was missing something that popped up at first boot called "X-Rite color assistant".

I have also read there can be issues with the x-rite devices and usb 3.0, however since my laptop can see the device I do not see why that would be an issue here. For reference I am on a Dell XPS 15 utilizing a WD19DCS, unsure if my dock would also cause any issues.

That would be a (short-term) fix that doesn't cost anything. I use Resolve Studio for my editing work (and even my VFX now when I get time to learn that UI).

Most of my current stuff doesn't need me to fire up a 16 core Xeon and since electricity it's free I'm sticking with an i3 laptop for a daily driver which is fine for most Affinity Photo work. (More props to the developers for making this possible!)

With the colorimeter plugged in I uninstalled the X-Rite device drivers in Device Manager, selecting the option to delete the driver files from disk. I then uninstalled the software (both i1 Match 3 and i1 Diagnostics) and removed all traces of the software from disk and from the registry (I have a utility that removes the registry keys associated with the uninstalled applications) and then restarted Window 7

If you could not find the exact driver for your hardware device or you aren't sure which driver is right one, we have a program that will detect your hardware specifications and identify the correct driver for your needs. Please click here to download.

To my surprise this morning, when I went to calibrate my Asus monitor, i1Display's app opened, but never progressed to fully open. In other words, the app never recognized the i1D device. I know it has something to do with driver incompatibility with W11, but that is a very shaky area for me and I would appreciate help on how to get my device up and working again. Thanks.

UPGRADE Note:The i1Profiler software allows you to move licenses from an i1Pro device (older one) to an i1PRO2 device (newer one). This is a one way trip, and will remove all the licenses from the i1Pro and move them to the i1PRO2.To be clear, if you have an i1Pro plus own i1Profiler licenses, you can purchase an i1Basic PRO2 and use i1Profiler to migrate those licenses over to the i1Basic PRO2, converting it to an i1Publish PRO2. Users will be able to continue using their legacy solutions if desired. However, X-Rite will verify that the original dongle is legitimate, and eligible for upgrade.X-Rite will upgrade an i1Pro built-in internal dongle or ProfileMaker external dongle through the i1Profiler software interface. Users will purchase either Upgrade A or Upgrade B as applicable, and when they receive the upgrade, the box will include an activation code . X-Rite will not use the existing upgrade paths in i1Diagnostics or License Tool.MonacoPROFILER users receive a new i1Publish dongle in addition to their Monaco Profiler dongle. The UPGRADE Code that arrives with all upgrades REQUIRES an internet connection. The code that is printed on the upgrade box is really only applicable for "auto activation" done via the internet. If you do not have an internet connection, you will need to acquire an entirely different code and then use the 'manual activation process'. For this manual code, you must contact X-Rite directly. Call the X-Rite number listed within i1Profiler and ask for the i1Profiler Support Team.7-15-11 NOTE: i1Profiler Dongle/i1Pro Transfer Replacement Policy:If you have a PMv5 dongle or i1Pro you have recently upgraded to i1Profiler, and if that device is broken, damaged or does not work, X-Rite will now honor, evaluate and replace it. Coordinate with CHROMiX. Installation & Authentication NOTE:In i1Profiler Publish Pro (EOPUB), the spectro is utilized as the dongle. In the package you should receive the software, spectro, 2 color checkers and little white folded up pamphlet with an i1 logo on it. This pamphlet has a license key printed right on the front if it (14 characters). Once the software is installed, you'll need to connect your i1 device to a USB hub and ensure the software recognizes the unit (software will display instrument serial number). Once this verification has been completed, you should see a button called upgrade license or something to that effect. Once you press that button, a pop up box will appear. You will enter the 14 digit license key and also fill in any other applicable information. Once thats submitted, you should see green check marks all across the individual module icons displayed on your software.i1Publish Upgrade includesi1Profiler v1.x software for monitors, projectors, scanners and RGB/CMYK+ printers, ColorChecker Camera Calibration software, PANTONE Color Manager software, ColorChecker Classic target mini, ColorChecker Proof target and soft-sided storage case.i1Pro 2 Hardware SpecificationsSPECTRAL ENGINEi1 technology with built-in wavelengths checkSpectral analyzer: Holographic diffraction grating with 128-pixel diode arraySpectral Range: 380 - 730 nmPhysical sampling interval: 3.5 nmOptical resolution: 10 nmSpectral reporting: 380 ... 730 nm in 10 nm stepsMeasurement Frequency in scanning mode: 200 measurements per secondOPTICSMeasurement geometry: 45/0 ring illumination optics, ISO 13655:2009Measurement aperture: 4.5 mm (0.18) diameter (effective measurement aperture during scanning is depending on the patch size and measurement speed) Illumination Spot Size: 3.5 mm (0.14)Light source: Gas filled tungsten (illuminant type A) and UV LEDREFLECTANCE MEASUREMENTData Format: Spectral Reflectance (dimensionless)Measurement Conditions:UV included - ISO 13655:2009 measurement condition M0D50 - ISO 13655:2009 measurement condition M1UV excluded Filter - ISO 13655:2009 measurement condition M2OBC: Optical Brightener Compensation (OBC) with i1Profiler software Calibration: Manual on external ceramic white referenceMeasurement Background: white, ISO 13655:2009; for measurements on backup boardMaximum Media Thickness: 3 mm (0.12) on backup boardMinimum Patch Size in Scanning Mode: 7 x 10 mm (0.28 x 0.39) (Width x Height) with sensor ruler 10 x 10 mm (0.39 x 0.39) (Width x Height) without sensor rulerInter-instrument agreement: 0.4 E94* average, 1.0 E94* max.
