XRAI-SCA 2025 seeks various types of papers (up to 4 pages, excluding references), which include:
Position Papers that identify and share insightful opinions and ideas.
Survey Papers that capture the current states of research and present potential research gaps and future directions.
Project Papers that give an overview of an ongoing/planning project by describing the approach and goals of the project.
Research Papers that contribute state-of-the-art advances and provide results as evidence, which include serious/critical XR applications and systems.
A range of topics, which embrace different disciplines and perspectives, are invited to contribute to XRAI-SCA, including, but not limited to:
XR + AI in healthcare (e.g., surgical guidance, mental health, rehabilitation)
Emergency response and disaster management
Remote operations and mission-critical decision support
Military and defense applications
Industrial safety and training
Space exploration and remote maintenance
Autonomous agents for high-stakes collaboration in XR
XR-based simulation for ethics, security, and policy decision-making
Cognitive load, stress, and performance monitoring in serious applications
Human-AI teaming and explainability in XR environments
The accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Digital Library as part of the IEEE ISMAR Workshops Proceedings. It is mandatory for at least one author from each accepted paper to register, attend, and present their work at XRAI-SCA 2025 (ISMAR 2025).
All paper submissions should be formatted as ISMAR Conference Proceedings papers, using the IEEE Computer Society VGTC format described at https://tc.computer.org/vgtc/publications/conference/.

The papers must be submitted in PDF format electronically via Microsoft CMT service (https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/XRAISCA2025)
Workshop papers use a single-blind reviewing process. All submissions will be reviewed by the workshop organizers (and other external reviewers). Thus, authors, affiliations, and acknowledgments must be mentioned in the submitted paper, videos, or supplementary materials.
All submissions must be in English.
