Augmented Reality Guidance with Semantic Scene Graphs
AI (artificial intelligence)is revolutionizing many aspects of working with digital data. However, away from the desktop, it is not so clear how interaction with AI will work. Augmented reality (AR) offers a compelling option. It can present visual guidance for activities while the user is acting in the real world, rather than just relying on textual or spoken instructions. The engine that drives this application scans the user's environment and extracts a semantic scene graph that can be queried by large language models. This talk summarizes recent work in this area and lays out a path for future applications in industry.

Ways of Building Industrial XR @ Siemens Energy: A Comparative Perspective on Outcomes and Learnings
XR at Siemens Energy has been developing through multiple parallel paths; in-house applications, partnerships, platform integrations, XR Arenas, cross-divisional communities, and structured formats, activities and methods driving it into day-to-day work. This keynote presents a selection of use cases across engineering design reviews, BIM, on-site inspections, remote assistance, onboarding, training and examines how the chosen approach shapes the technical architecture & implementation, user experience, adoption, and business value of XR at scale. It also looks ahead to XR as a natural interface to AI, emerging potentials of this convergence, and the critical role of data as its foundation.
