My Outlook was updated to the newest version a few days ago and I'm having issues with opening PDF attachments in my default PDF viewer. Before, you could click the attachment in the email and get a preview but if you were to fully open the attachment it would open in my default application. Since the update, when i click on the attachment it pulls up the preview but the only way to actually open it is to save it to OneDrive, download to my computer, or print. In most cases I need to open the full attachment but not necessarily need to save it. Just review in detail and the preview is not working well enough for me. I'm not even able to rotate using the right-click and rotate. How can I change this to open in my default viewer and not in the message preview only?

Once you have adjusted these settings, try opening a PDF attachment in Outlook again. It should now open in your default PDF viewer instead of just displaying the preview. You should be able to review the attachment in detail, rotate pages, and perform other functions available in your PDF viewer.

The steps I followed:

Open Outlook and go to the "File" tab at the top left corner of the window.

In the File menu, click on "Options."

In the Outlook Options window, select the "Trust Center" tab.

Click on the "Trust Center Settings..." button.

In the Trust Center window, select the "Attachment Handling" option on the left side.

Under the "Attachment and Document Previewers" section, locate the entry for PDF files (extension .pdf) and make sure it is set to "Adobe Acrobat Document" or your preferred PDF viewer.

If the correct program is already selected, you can try toggling the setting off and back on by unchecking and rechecking the checkbox.

Click "OK" to save the changes and close the Trust Center window.

Click "OK" again to close the Outlook Options window.

Then:

Clear Outlook temporary files: Clearing temporary files associated with Outlook might help resolve any cached data causing the issue.

Close Outlook.

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

Type %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook and press Enter.

Delete all the files and folders within the Outlook folder.

Restart Outlook and check if the issue persists.

I am extremely amateur in SharePoint and of course that includes the world of programming. I designed a Tabbed form in powerapps for a SharePoint list that collects user request information, and one of this tabbed screen included as Document Viewer Gallery user a different SharePoint Document Library. This Document Library has only word documents being displayed in a pdfViewer. Initially, it was working seamlessly, but I have started to notice two issues

1. When I get to my Document Viewer Screen I am unable to navigate through tiled gallery, as its gets locked on the first tiled document (see DocumentViewerAttachement). The tiled document border is Orange

I'm tired of Adobe Reader blocking so many useful features (like OCR) behind their paywall. MS Edge (and any browser for that matter) doesn't have enough features for me, and the best PDF viewer/editor I've used was the built-in Preview app on MacOS.

But all I get is a grey box that states "Couldn't open PDF file", with a Link underneath "Open in my Browser instead" which works perfectly. I.e. the URL I give to the PDF viewer is definitely correct.

This following one statement in the Document property on a PDF Viewer control will dynamically convert many document types to PDF you can display in your apps such as Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, HTML files. Loads more.

There is a more consistent way of doing it with PDF documents using the Graph APIs which surface a "@content.downloadUrl" property for any file, but this property in particular works 100% of the time, and once again you only need to set the Document property on the PDF Viewer to this field using the PA_Graph_DriveItems Flow I've shared on a really long blogs that speaks to loads more things you equally do using those APIs.

Given the "Citizen Developer" mantra, and that I am guessing most citizen developers are storing their PowerApps data in SharePoint lists etc., the inability to view documents within Power Apps which are stored on SharePoint is aggravating.

The default PDF viewer on your computer is a great option for quickly glancing at a PDF. However, while viewing a PDF you may notice changes that need to be made within it. Most default PDF viewers do not have the necessary tools to make edits or collaborate with coworkers. You may want to change your default PDF viewer to Adobe Acrobat in order to have the editing and collaboration tools you need all in one place.

My WPF app view uses DocumentViewer which I let the user Print. It displays perfectly in my UI and the DocumentViewer.Print command produces the desired output if the user chooses normal printer. Unfortunately, if the user chooses the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer, it just creates an empty document. I can't figure out why or how to work around it.

At this point, the document has successfully printed. Note that the "NotSupportedException" you see above showed this text in the debugger: 'BitmapMetadata is not available on BitmapImage.' But again, it printed successfully so I took this as harmless.

Adobe Acrobat software is the complete PDF solution for working anywhere with your most important documents. It provides simple and consistent user experience across desktop, web, and mobile-including touch-enabled devices.

The internal PDF viewer now appears to always work in Linux Mint 19.1 Mate.

But, I need to be able to specify an external PDF handler.

Version 0.66.101 Chromium: 75.0.3770.142 (Official Build) (64-bit)

NOTE: This MAY have been fixed. I was able to successfully open a PDF document

However, now the home URL has been replaced with this:

OK - i know I'm maybe demanding so it is not even neccesary to opening files by viewer but i want to see thumbnails to have ensurance the folder with Affinity files is not empty when I'm browsing files with image viewer.

The document viewer displays information in panes. Available panes are the:Image Pane, Text Pane, Metadata Pane, Thumbnails Pane, Annotations Pane, Business Process Pane and Electronic File Pane. In the document viewer, panes are displayed in the area below the toolbar. The number of panes displayed depends on the type of layout being used and how it has been configured.

Panes can be displayed in almost any configuration: you can remove or move and rearrange panes on the image, float panes, or lock them in place. You are also not restricted to a particular number of rows or columns when you open panes in the document viewer. For example, you can display four panes of equal size in a foursquare pattern, or you could display your Image Pane and Metadata Pane side-by-side with the Thumbnail Pane above them both. This flexibility allows you to display information about a document however is most useful to you.

Pane layout is saved on a per-user basis. This means that one user could customize the pane layout one way, without affecting the way another user customizes theirs. This allows each user to set up the panes in the way that is most useful to them. In addition, pane layout is saved separately for electronic documents and imaged documents. Pane layouts for the Laserfiche Windows client and the Laserfiche web client are also saved separately.

You can move and rearrange your panes in any way you want in the document viewer. To move a pane, click and drag the title bar from any visible pane. While you are holding down the left mouse button, icons called docking stickers will appear to indicate where you can place the pane.

Each docking sticker represents a portion of the document viewer where you can drop the pane by releasing the mouse button. For example, dropping the pane on the left-most docking sticker places the pane on the left side of the document viewer. When you hover over a docking sticker, a shaded blue rectangle will indicate where the pane will be placed if you drop it there.

If an area of the document viewer already contains a pane, additional docking stickers will display that allow you to subdivide that area. For instance, if you already have a pane on the left side, and you move another pane, you will have the option to place it above or below the existing pane on the left side. If you already have a pane on the top, and you move another pane, you will have the option to place it to the right or the left of the existing pane.

Once a pane has been displayed in document viewer, you can determine whether it should always be visible or whether it should be open but hidden. A pinned pane has a fixed location in the document viewer and is always visible, unless manually closed, while the document viewer is open. A hidden pane, in contrast, minimizes itself when it is not selected. Hidden panes are useful for sections of the document viewer that you refer to frequently but do not need to see at all times.

To hide a pinned pane, click the pin icon in the pane's upper right corner. The pane will be hidden, but can be openedby hovering the cursor on the pane's name, which will be visible on one side of the document viewer. The hidden pane will be visible for as long as your cursor is active in that pane, and will automatically be hidden again when you move your cursor to another pane. 0852c4b9a8
