Gossip Gal here, your one and only source for anything and everything scandalous having to do with the most wonderful readings of mythology. First up, the most popular couple on the block: Adam and Eve!
This week was one of the most eventful and challenging weeks of Adam and Eve's lives; they did the unthinkable, they let down the one person they swore they would never let down: God.
Let me back this up so you can understand the story from the beginning. It was a sunny, hot day when God had a conversation with Adam; he specifically told Adam not to eat the forbidden fruit from a specific tree. To be more specific, Adam was instructed not to eat an apple from a specific tree; it was known as the Forbidden Fruit. Although this was what the majority of my sources have told me, I have had other intel that the Forbidden Fruit might have been a banana, orange, or even a bushel of grapes, we aren't too sure. For my purposes, I will stick with the majority decision, the apple! Once Adam started to wander off (like he tends to do, as we all know), he ran into a spider that started to persuade Adam into eating the forbidden fruit.
I know what you are all thinking, Adam would never do that, he has much more willpower than that, etc., but I am here to tell you all that willpower went out the window and Adam did in fact eat the forbidden fruit.
I bet you all are wondering what the black widow could have possibly said to Adam to get him to fall into the trap. Let me tell you this - you will not believe it - the black widow told Adam that if he were to give in and eat the Forbidden Fruit, then the whole world would be his, and he would be the new ruler. Well, we all know that could never be true for the reason being that our one and only God already took the position of ruler and creator. Not only did Adam eat the fruit, he then persuaded Eve into eating it too; what a couple, persuading each other to do the one thing God asked them not to do. I had more hope for Eve. Eve seemed a little hesitant at first, and I thought she might decline Adam's offer. Unfortunately, she also fell for the trap. Adam told her she would be his partner in his future ruling of the world. I mean, who doesn't want to rule the world? Of course that sounded wonderful to Eve.
Let's not forget what other sources reported about this story!! Multiple other sources have said how Eve was the one to convince Adam to eat the Forbidden Fruit. How come the fall of mankind got blamed on Eve? How could Eve let Adam get away with blaming her? Well, here it is: Eve felt bad for Adam having broken the rules, so, being the empathetic person that we all know she is, she took the blame and let Adam be the one who was persuaded. Eve gave me this bit of intel before they had gotten banished (another detail you will find out later in my blog blast).
Next, I bet you are all wondering how God reacted to this. He was humiliated that his prized possessions had gone against him and disrespected his will. In fact, God banished them from our so loved Garden of Love. He explained to them how they went against everything he had asked them to do, even after he had provided them with everything they would need. Not only did God banish them from the Garden of Love, but he also had the entire garden frozen over to explain how without love in the garden, there would be no more growth. He aimed this at Adam and Eve explaining how they were responsible for taking the love out of the garden. Once they were ready to leave, God instructed the spider, who tempted them into eating the fruit, to chase them out of the garden in hopes they would now run from temptation.
Adam and Eve have been off the radar since, so I don't have anything else to update you guys on, but when I do, you know where to find me! As always, keep sending in your gossip tips and if you happen to spot them anywhere around here. We all want to know what their next move will be!
Xoxo,

Author's Note: I did a storytelling of The Fall, coming from the King James Bible (1611): Genesis 3. The original story had very outdated language, so I wanted to make it more modernized. The original story tells how Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, as I discussed in my story, but I made a few changes. First, the classic Biblical version, and every other version I have read, depicts Eve as the one who eats the forbidden fruit first and then persuades Adam to as well; I changed this and had Adam be the one who first ate the fruit. Also, in the original, a serpent was the one who persuaded them into eating the fruit, and I changed it to be a black widow. I chose the black widow as opposed to the serpent because as a kid I was deathly afraid of spiders, not so much snakes. This could be because spiders are present in the area where I grew up, but for whatever reason, that fear has stuck with me until today as well. The original also had a lot more dialogue, but I thought using a spinoff version of Gossip Girl would be a fun way to modernize this piece and bring a bit of a reporting sense to it. With the reporter being the speaker (Gossip Gal) it gives more insight into a summary of the stories, and it comes about as breaking news rather than a dialogue between Adam and Eve with God. I came up with this story because I recently just binge-watched the whole Gossip Girl series and was so intrigued by it the whole time.
