First I closed all instances of Notepad++. Then, I copied the XMLTools.dll to the plugins folder of my Notepad++ installation and the dependencies (libs) alongside the notepad++.exe as described in the install.txt.

I use the XML Tools Notepad++ plugin and its command "Pretty print", however I'd like to change it's shortcut. I was not able to find the command in the "Settings > Shortcut Mapper...", is there a way to do it?

I don't know why you could not find it.Go to Setting -> Shortcut Mapper, then click on "Plugin commands". All shortcuts used by plugins will be listed. You can filter them by typing: "pretty" on the filter box. You can then double-click or right then modify to modify the shortcut command.

The XML Tools plugin is a great tool for working with XML files in Notepad++ as it gives you a good user experience with XML files. For more information, you can hover on it and see a couple of other useful things you can do with it.

I always use Notepad++ as my random text editor on windows. I already use its Compare plugin constantly, so I am very familiar with it. It finally donned on me to check if it had an plugin that could help me with Xmls and sure enough, it did.

The main feature that drew me in was the multiple document (tabbed) interface - you can see in the shot above that I've got three documents open. Simple enough, but it really cuts down on the clutter. Once I started using Notepad++, though, it was the plugins that blew me away. The big plugin is TextFX (included, no separate install necessary), which turns this simple notepad into the Swiss Army Knife of text editors:

Spoiler alert! Column editing is super simple in Notepad++ ? All you have to do is press the Alt key while selecting text. You can use either Alt+Mouse Dragging or Alt+Shift+Arrows. This works perfectly on text that is already aligned. But what if your text is not formatted as columns already? You can quickly fix that by using the TextFX plugin.

Start Notepad++, either from the installer (when it has finished), the Start Menu or the Windows Explorer Context Menu to edit a file. As of version 6.8.6 the default installer includes the following plugins: Converter 3.0, MIME Tools 1.9, NppExport 0.2.8, Plugin Manager 1.3.5, interestingly DSpellCheck 1.2.14 and NppFTP 0.26.3 are no longer included, they used to be. Clearly there are plenty more plugins that can be added, however, as with all software, don't install every plugin you find, just pick what you really need. My recommended plugins are below.

There are three possible options regarding networking in terms of Notepad++ connecting to the internet:

Direct Connection: if you have a direct connection to the internet or rather a proxy is not required then everything is fine out of the box

Proxy Connection: as of Notepad++ 6.3.1 you need to configure the proxy settings in the Plugin Manager, via the Settings button, you can also configure the Updater to use a proxy via "Set Updater Proxy" on the ? menu

No Network: in this scenario there is no point selecting "Updater" in the installer and any plugins will need to be updated via the Plugin Download section below

First, consult the Notepad++ wiki for details of what plugins are available and what they do, see Plugin Central - Notepad++ Wiki for details. This page contains links to the downloads for the plugins or their SourceForge project pages. However watch out as some link to old versions! So it is worth going to Notepad++ Plugins - Browse Files at SourceForge.net manually sometimes. The Compare plugin has it's own project page on SourceForge, however a number of plugins like TextFX and XML Tools are on the NPP Plugins SourceForge Project.

When you have downloaded the plugins, usually in zip format then extract the file archives. The DLL's should be installed in %ProgramFiles%\Notepad++\plugins, if there is any config then it should go in the plugins\config folder and documentation should go in plugins\docs. This should be done when Notepad++ is not running. When you have copied the files, start Notepad++ and the plugins should work just fine.

It is worth noting that "Markdown Panel" is a very nice, simple, lightweight plugin, "MarkdownViewer++"" adds features to export to HTML or PDF, so is more feature rich, however it does lack the zoom level control that "Markdown Panel" has, but note that you can install both!

here is a plugin that i am using for as language in notepad++.

You have to copy the xml file into the Notepad++\plugins\APIs folder and Import the plugin from Language --> Define Language.

After importing, select AS Language from User language. Close the notepad++ and select AS Language from Language menu.

The latest version of Notepad++ didn't have an 'API' folder (which I expected from Alexandru's post), but I made one anyway at, in my case, Program Files > Notepad++ > plugins > APIs.

After that it was very much like Alexandru shows in the images, basically finding it from within Notepad++.

Yes, KIDE is totally free and I'm using it for about 4+ years and it's really a brand new experience after the Notepad++ and other tools. I know, that K-ROSET has it's own AS editor, but it it doesn't have the features I use in the KIDE.

Well up until now I was using Poseidon tools as my sqf editor. But I think I'll go back to Notepad++ bc Poseidon has this "Buy license" dialog that pops up after saving a certain amount of times. Otherwise it's working fine for me. From where did you download the highlighter?

Francis Edwards, Integration Analyst at Saint-Gobain and MuleSoft Ambassador, is an experienced MuleSoft developer. He spoke at MuleSoft CONNECT:Now EMEA sharing useful integration tools to help developers get the most out of Anypoint Studio. Below, he provides insight into each tool he recommends as well as demonstrates how he created a Mule app.

A second issue was validating, formatting, and making test input easier to read or to match DataWeave inputs and outputs. I use Notepad++ to solve these issues. It allows me to identify mistakes and offers plugins for looking at Xpath statements and working out what data I need to select. This tool allows me to check data first before inputting it into MuleSoft and helps validate or invalidate data for the purpose of testing MuleSoft flows.

Most importantly, these tools compliment Anypoint Studio, allowing quicker Mule app development. My advice is to know all the tools you can use to test and clean data, spotting likely errors to be handled, as this is the foundation that mature Mule apps are built upon.

There may be an Eclipse plugin that adds the functionality you are looking for. Perhaps a plugin for a different editor completely. I don't have any experience myself. You can try searching the Eclipse marketplace.

This plugin lets you connect to different servers at the same time. You can open, edit, and save files on different servers with this plugin, and more importantly, the changes made are in real-time sync between your local machines and remote servers. e24fc04721
