Giuseppe Murolo ("we", "our", or "us") provides the XmasMaps mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

* **Location Data:** With your explicit permission, we collect precise or approximate geolocation data while using the App to display nearby holiday light displays on the map and to verify proximity when checking into a display location. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed.
* **Account Information:** If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials securely via our backend provider (Supabase).
* **User-Generated Content:** Display submissions, reviews, ratings, and uploaded photos that you choose to submit are stored to populate the public map and community directory.
### 2. How We Use Information
* To provide, maintain, and improve app functionality (e.g., populating map markers, calculating distances to displays).
* To prevent fraudulent check-ins and verify community submissions.
* To authenticate user accounts and manage user-submitted favorites and reviews.
### 3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We utilize trusted third-party infrastructure providers to support app operations:
* **Supabase:** Cloud database and user authentication.
* **Apple MapKit / Google Maps:** Map rendering and geocoding services.
### 4. Data Security & Retention
We enforce strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to protect user accounts and data integrity. We retain your user-generated content for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide our services.
