The XL Workshop focuses on everything having to do with Experimental Linguistics. Our idea is to create a space where discussions about experimental design, methodology, and interpretation can happen in an informal yet productive manner.
We find that many early-stage researchers (like-ourselves) could benefit from a group where there is collaborative engagement on topics having to do with experimental design, implementation, as well as data analysis. The idea of this meeting would not only be to improve our own projects, but to help others, and to expand our knowledge on what each other are doing.
We believe this group would allow for discussions to occur between colleagues with an understanding that what we are doing is an Experimental Linguistics Workshop where we do not expect “conference-level” presentations to be given. Rather, constructive criticism and discussions which lead to the overall improvement of our projects will be the ideal outcome.
This meeting is targeting those who would like to collaborate on projects having to do with Experimental Linguistics, from master's students to senior researchers. Anyone who is in the process of developing or refining a project falling under the umbrella of Experimental Linguistics is welcome to join.
All in all, we hope that this Experimental Workshop of sorts interests many of you as it does us.
Interested? We meet Friday at 2pm at ODG.
