I am an incoming Assistant Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. I am currently an Associate Research Scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Princeton University. From 2021 to 2024, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Interfacial Water Group, led by Professor Ian C. Bourg, in the same department. I received my Ph.D. in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021, under the supervision of Professor D. Nicolas Espinoza.
I have received the Early Career Scientist Travel Award from The Division of Geochemistry of the American Chemical Society (2025), the Warren Huff Clay Science Pathway Award from The Clay Minerals Society (2024), the Outstanding Academic Editor Award from Deep Underground Science and Engineering (2024), the Cockrell Engineering Fellowship from UT Austin (2021), and the Wang Tao Talented Scholars Scholarship from the China Petroleum Education Society (2017).
I have taken on leadership roles in professional service, including associate editor for 2 journals, guest editor for 4 journals, reviewer for 18 journals, and committee member of the Clay Minerals Society. I have delivered over 27 conference presentations (e.g., ACS, AGU, ARMA, InterPore, and Goldschmidt) and has been invited to speak at more than 13 institutions (e.g., University of Houston, SUNY Buffalo, and ExxonMobil).
