GRADUATE COURSES:

Accounting 3310/5310 primarily covers how accounting systems provide information to decision-makers. This course provides students with a solid foundation in the knowledge and skills needed for success in today’s information- and technology-rich business environment. Students should be able to do the following upon completion of this course: Acquire a basic understanding of manual accounting systems (through the Systems Understanding Aid) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (through hands-on use of QuickBooks Online).   

Accounting 4130/6130 primarily covers the financial accounting for business combinations, intercorporate interests, consolidated financial statements and related issues. It also covers accounting and reporting for international transactions and multinational acquisition. Students should be able to do the following upon completion of this course: Complete each step in the consolidated accounting cycle; Describe the effect of inter-company transactions on financial statements; and Prepare consolidation purpose financial statements.


UNDERGRADUATE COURSES:

BUAD 2040 is an introduction to the basic concepts and standards underlying financial accounting. This course focuses on how companies identify, measure, and communicate financial accounting information to external users. BUAD 2040 teaches financial accounting from a non-debit/non-credit approach. This course emphasizes using and interpreting the financial information communicated through a company’s financial statements as well as the construction of the basic financial accounting statements - the income statement, balance sheet, statement of retained earnings, and statement of cash flows.
