New Research Agenda: The Role of Generative AI in Financial Modeling
Generative AI is transforming the way theories are written in finance. A central example is my venture capital project “Retail Capital as a Stepping Stone in Venture Capital,” in which I use Claude AI to adapt a mutual fund learning framework (from my forthcoming Journal of Finance paper) to the venture capital setting. Tasks that would typically require months of manual modeling and coding were instead prototyped in days, enabling rapid exploration of new theoretical mechanisms.
