RULES TO PARTICIPATE:

"Why is it important for Portuguese students to know about the indigenous peoples of Brazil?"

1) Condition: Participants must be 2023-24 Portuguese Language students at Northwestern University, University of Chicago or University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Students from other universities cannot compete.

2) Exploration of the theme: Choose a specific ethnicity, or some general aspect of Brazilian indigenous people to answer the question "Why is it important for Portuguese students to know about the indigenous peoples of Brazil?". Be clear and objective.

3) Video: The video must be narrated in Portuguese. Students can appear in the video, but it is not necessary.

4) Format: The video should be 3 to 5 minutes with information, photos, interviews and whatever else is relevant to the development of the topic.

5) On-site activity: The video can be enriched by your presence at the XI Illinois Portuguese Language Connection at Northwestern University on April 13th. Take the opportunity to film the posters and the activities, conduct interviews with your colleagues and with our illustrious guest: Cacique Tapi Yawalapiti.

6) Title: Give your video a title. Identify the names of the participants and their university.

7) Criteria: creativity, engagement, accurate information, time and general organization.

8) Submission: The video must be sent with sharing on Google Drive to portugueselangconnection@gmail. Write an email with a description of the video. You can add hashtags and also @ for identification on social media.

9) Deadline: May 5, 2024, 11:59pm (Attention: date extended!)

10) Sharing permission: Students who send the video automatically agree to its sharing on the social networks of the participating universities: Northwestern University, The University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

11) Results and Awards: The videos will be evaluated by a  committee external to the universities. The winning video will be announced by the end of the second half of May and its creators will receive two round-trip tickets to Brasil from COPA AIRLINES at a celebration at Northwestern University.
