Biography
Xiaoyan received her PhD in Civil Engineering (Transport - Traffic Engineering) from ENTPE, University of Lyon, and started her career as a Research Associate (Chargé de Recherche) at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC, Institut Polytechnique de Paris since 2024) in 2014. Then, she joined the CY Cergy Paris Université (CYU) as an Associate Professor (Professeur Agrégé senior, then Enseignant-Chercheur senior) between 2020 and 2023, and was also a Full Researcher (Chercheuse, 50% time) at Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE) between 2021 and 2022. She joined the Dalian Maritime University (DMU) as an Associate Professor in 2023, and was the head of bachelor in Transport Engineering since 2025.
Research for urban Traffic & Mobility since 2010, she was not only engaged in fundamental research on the theories / models of passenger transportation and mobility to solve inherent and novel key issues of User-Service-System, but also actively involved in various major research projects to promote the development of environmentally friendly, comfortable, safe and sustainable mobility systems for urban development and planning, in LICIT (EMob-Lab since 2026) of ENTPE - INRETS (IFSTTAR since 2011), in LVMT of ENPC - IFSTTAR - UPEM, in GRETTIA of UGE (ex IFSTTAR), in MATRiS of CYU - Cerema, and in College of transportation engineering of DMU.
She mentored and co-mentored PhD candidate, PhD student, engineer / master student, and undergraduate student in ENPC, and supported HR. She had undergraduate, engineer, or master courses on Traffic and Transportation in French, English or Chinese. She had been engaging with ENPC, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (USPN) as Adjunct Professor, and with HaiNan Normal University and Henan University of Technology as Visiting Professor.
