How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want marathon battery life, a secure half in-ear fit and rock-solid Bluetooth 5.3 with almost no video delay, choose XIAOWTEK A40; if you need a rotating touch-screen case, app-free on-case controls and newer Bluetooth 5.4 with a wider 15-metre range, choose TRAUSI Earbuds.
• XIAOWTEK A40 — biggest strength: 50 hours of total playtime, active noise cancellation and IPX7 waterproofing in a lightweight half in-ear design.
• XIAOWTEK A40 — biggest trade-off: A conventional flip-open case with no display, and Bluetooth 5.3 rather than the newer 5.4 standard.
• TRAUSI Earbuds — biggest strength: A 180° swivel case with a full-colour LCD touch screen that handles volume, track skipping, EQ presets and a "find my earbuds" locator without touching your phone.
• TRAUSI Earbuds — biggest trade-off: 4–5 hours per charge from the buds themselves, with the bigger number coming from the case reserve, plus a shorter 90-day warranty.
• Pick the XIAOWTEK A40 if you care most about long listening sessions, sweat and rain, and a light, unobtrusive fit.
• Pick the TRAUSI Earbuds if you want the case itself to be the control centre and you like the idea of fidgeting with a mechanical swivel.
The A40 Pro is built around one idea: keep going. XIAOWTEK rates the earbuds and the charging case at 50 hours of average life, and a full charge takes about 1.5 hours. That combination is the whole pitch — a long week of commuting, gym sessions and desk work between trips to a charger. The case uses a hall switch, so opening the lid wakes the buds and reconnects them to your last device automatically. No button-holding, no pairing menus after the first setup.
Sound comes from 12 mm dynamic drivers covering 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, with an in-ear acoustic structure that XIAOWTEK says balances internal and external air pressure to keep bass strong and vocals clear. Active noise cancellation is on board, which is unusual at this tier of earbud and useful on buses, trains and open-plan offices. The half in-ear shape sits at a 108-degree angle, and the single earbud weighs just 0.14 ounces, so long wear is realistic. Touch controls handle media, and IPX7 waterproofing means sweat and rain are not a problem. It ships with S/M/L ear caps, a Type-C cable and a one-year manufacturer warranty, and it works with both Android and iOS.
Who should buy it: runners, gym-goers, commuters and anyone who hates charging. The IPX7 rating plus the low weight makes it an easy pick for movement, and the noise cancellation helps in loud environments.
Who should skip it: if you want on-case controls, a screen or the newest Bluetooth version, the A40 is not that product. The case is a plain flip-top, and Bluetooth is listed as 5.3 with a 10-metre range. Anyone who wants to leave their phone untouched while adjusting volume should look at the other option.
The TRAUSI T7 is the opposite approach — it makes the case the star. A precision-engineered shell rotates open through 180 degrees with a "snap-and-slide" action that TRAUSI markets as a stress-relief fidget as much as a lid. It is designed for single-handed operation, which matters when you are holding a coffee or a bag strap. That mechanical detail is the most distinctive thing about this pair, and if the idea appeals to you, nothing else in this comparison scratches the same itch.
The full-colour LCD touch screen on the case lets you change volume, skip tracks, switch EQ presets like Jazz, Bass and Pop, set a timer, pick custom wallpapers and trigger a "find my earbuds" locator. All of that happens without opening an app or unlocking your phone. It also shows real-time battery percentages for each bud and the case separately, which removes the guesswork of a single blinking LED.
Audio runs through 13 mm dynamic drivers with the AC7006F chipset and Bluetooth 5.4, giving a 15-metre range and very low latency — TRAUSI claims you are connected almost before the buds reach your ears. Calls rely on environmental noise cancellation with -42 dB high-sensitivity microphones and AI filtering for wind and background chatter. Note the wording carefully: this is ENC for telephony plus passive noise isolation from the snug fit, not active noise cancellation. Battery life is 4–5 hours per charge in the buds, with the 400 mAh case pushing total use past 48 hours. IPX7 waterproofing is here too, and the box includes two earbuds, the wireless charging case, a cable, ear tips and a manual. Warranty is 90 days.
Who should buy it: people who live on their phone and want fewer taps, anyone who finds case-fiddling genuinely calming, and buyers who want the newest Bluetooth standard and the longest wireless range.
Who should skip it: if you need active noise cancellation, or you want the buds themselves to last all day without a case top-up, the T7's spec sheet points elsewhere.
• Best for total battery life → XIAOWTEK A40. 50 hours rated on both the buds and the case, versus 4–5 hours in the T7 buds backed by a 48-hour case reserve.
• Best for active noise cancellation → XIAOWTEK A40. It lists Active Noise Cancellation; the TRAUSI is ENC plus passive isolation.
• Best for on-case control → TRAUSI Earbuds. The LCD touch screen covers volume, tracks, EQ, timer and a bud locator with no phone involved.
• Best for the newest Bluetooth and range → TRAUSI Earbuds. Bluetooth 5.4 with a 15-metre range beats 5.3 at 10 metres.
• Best for low-latency gaming and video → Either, with an edge to the A40. XIAOWTEK explicitly targets synchronised picture and sound; TRAUSI leans on the AC7006F chip for low latency.
• Best for driver size → TRAUSI Earbuds. 13 mm dynamic drivers against the A40's 12 mm — more surface area for bass, in principle.
• Best for warranty cover → XIAOWTEK A40. One year versus 90 days.
• Best for a distinctive, tactile case → TRAUSI Earbuds. The 180° swivel is the reason to pick this pair.
In my opinion, the XIAOWTEK A40 is the safer buy for most people. Fifty hours of playtime, active noise cancellation, IPX7 and a one-year warranty cover the things buyers actually complain about later. The TRAUSI T7 is genuinely more fun — I would recommend it to anyone who wants the swivel case and the touch screen, and who is happy to accept ENC instead of ANC and a 90-day warranty. If you are torn, buy for the feature you will notice daily: battery and quiet, or the case in your hand. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit, since that is the one variable that can flip this decision.
Both are IPX7 waterproof, so sweat and rain are covered on each. The A40's 0.14-ounce single-bud weight and 108-degree half in-ear angle suit long sessions better, while the T7's snug passive isolation stays put too. For pure endurance, I lean A40.
Not the same kind. The A40 lists Active Noise Cancellation. TRAUSI uses Environmental Noise Cancellation for calls plus passive isolation from the fit, so it quietens the microphone side rather than actively cancelling what you hear.
The A40 wins on paper: 50 hours rated for the buds and the case together. The T7 gives 4–5 hours per bud charge, extended past 48 hours by the 400 mAh case. If you rarely dock the case, the A40 lasts far longer between charges.
