I am a particle experimentalist studying the fundamental building blocks of the universe and physics laws that prescribe their interactions. My current approach to explore the unknown world is centered around neutrinos

News:

June 2022

I am deeply honored to receive Department of Energy Early Career Award. With this 5-year support, our group will conduct new physics searches by advancing liquid argon detector capabilities at current and future neutrino experiments such as Fermilab Short Baseline Neutrino program (SBN) and Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE).

May 2022

Thanks to Hellman foundation and UCSB academic senate for supporting our new research initiative -- design of a new experiment searching for muon to positron conversion, a step towards understanding the neutrino mass puzzle.

February 2022

MicroBooNE reached a milestone in neutrino physics -- 1st round of results on investigating "Low-Energy-Excess" anomaly are accepted for publication on PRL and PRD.

October 2021:

New MicroBooNE result sheds light on neutrino puzzle! Check out the UCSB Current article https://www.news.ucsb.edu/2021/020450/microboone-sheds-light-neutrino-puzzle

September 2021:

Welcome to the group Madeleine Bow Jun Leibovitch. Madeleine is a NSF graduate student fellow and will be mainly working on SBND.

April 2021

Congratulations to Erin for getting the DOE SCGSR award. Supported by this award, she will be based at Fermilab for a year working on SBND!

September 2020:

Congratulations to Erin for passing her Advanced Candidacy exam!

September 2020:

Dante Totani joined the group as a postdoc scholar. Dante is currently working on light analysis in various LArTPC experiments, primarily on ProtoDUNE Xe-doping analysis.

June 2020:

Congratulations to Erin for getting the Fermilab URA visiting scholar award!

November 2019:

UCSB group is approved to access to Neutrino platform at CERN, group members are actively working on data analysis for ProtoDUNE.

October 2019:

UCSB Joined DUNE!

July 2019:

  • UCSB officially joined MicroBooNE

  • 2nd year graduate student Erin Yandel joined the group, Erin is currently working on MicroBooNE's flagship analysis.

  • 1st graduate student Nate Kaneshige joined the group, Nate is currently focusing on Xe-doping light analysis.
