Xiaoguang Fan is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Zhejiang University.
Fan’s research interests are in the fields of social stratification, sociology of knowledge, and computational social science. His research explores how social change can shape behaviors and subjective consequences in contemporary China.
His work has appeared in the British Journal of Sociology, Social Science Research, Chinese Sociological Review, Social Sciences in China (中国社会科学), Sociological Studies (社会学研究), among others.
He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Fudan University in 2015. He was the visiting Scholar of the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford. Fan serves on the steering committee for the World Elite Database (WED) and board member of RC45 on the International Sociological Association (ISA).
