XiaoBu provides this Privacy Policy for applications published under its developer account, and privacy questions or requests may be sent to carolinenelson135@gmail.com.
This policy describes how our mobile applications handle information when you use their functions, adjust settings, interact with advertisements, or contact us. Throughout this policy, “Applications” refers to the applications covered by this notice.
Different Applications offer different features. The information involved depends on the Application you use, the permissions you grant, and the actions you choose to perform.
1. Information Involved in Requested Features
Applications that work with documents or media may access content made available through your selections or device permissions.
Depending on the available function, this may include:
- Documents, images, videos, audio, and other supported files.
- File names, formats, sizes, locations, and timestamps.
- Thumbnails and previews used to display content.
- Images captured through a document-scanning feature.
- Bookmarks, reading progress, and organization preferences.
- Files created through an editing, conversion, export, or recovery operation.
This access supports the relevant operation. Access to your files does not authorize their use for unrelated purposes.
2. On-Device Processing
The document and media functions covered by this policy process file contents on your device. Those local operations do not automatically upload your documents or media to our servers.
An Application may create temporary files, previews, or working copies to complete an operation. Outputs may be saved in Application storage or a destination you select.
If you choose a file supplied by an independent cloud service, that service may download or synchronize the file according to its own settings and policies.
3. Information You Choose to Send
When you share, print, export, or open content through another service, the selected destination receives the information required for that action.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you include. We use this information to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain necessary support records.
Please include only information relevant to your request. Remove confidential details from screenshots or attachments where possible.
4. Permissions and User Controls
An Application may request file, media, camera, or notification access where needed for a function it provides.
Access to additional storage locations may be requested by a file-management or recovery function where necessary and permitted. The accompanying explanation identifies the purpose of that request.
You can deny or revoke permissions through your device settings. A function that depends on a permission may become unavailable.
Revoking access prevents future use of that permission. It does not automatically remove exported files, information already sent to another service, or copies stored by a recipient.
5. Technical and Interaction Information
Where diagnostics, analytics, or advertising services are included, the Application and its providers may process:
- Device model and operating-system version.
- Application version, language, and general regional settings.
- IP address and network connection information.
- Application-instance or installation identifiers.
- Advertising identifiers where available and permitted.
- Feature interactions and session events.
- Crash traces, error details, and performance measurements.
- Advertisement impressions, clicks, and related delivery events.
This information supports troubleshooting, service measurement, advertising, and protection against misuse. It is separate from file contents processed locally.
6. Why Information Is Used
We handle information to:
- Carry out the functions you request.
- Remember settings and feature progress.
- Find and resolve technical problems.
- Improve reliability and compatibility.
- Understand general use of Application features.
- Deliver and measure advertising where present.
- Detect fraudulent traffic and security threats.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing relies on providing the requested service, consent, legal obligations, or permitted legitimate interests such as maintaining security and resolving errors.
This policy explains our practices. Reading it or using an Application does not replace a separate consent request where consent is required.
7. Providers and Advertising
We may use providers that support analytics, crash reporting, advertising delivery, advertising measurement, technical infrastructure, and support communications.
Providers acting on our behalf receive information needed for their assigned services under appropriate contractual restrictions. Independent advertising and platform providers may also process information for purposes described in their own privacy notices.
Advertising may involve device identifiers, IP addresses, approximate regional information derived from network data, and advertisement interactions.
Where required, consent choices are presented before the relevant processing starts. Available Application or device settings may allow you to change those choices.
Choosing non-personalized advertisements does not necessarily stop all processing. Limited information may still be needed for advertisement delivery, frequency control, measurement, and fraud prevention.
We do not sell personal and sensitive user data for monetary consideration or use private file contents to create advertising profiles.
8. Other Situations Involving Disclosure
Information may be disclosed:
- At your direction, including when you send a file to another service.
- To comply with an enforceable legal request or obligation.
- To investigate a security incident or protect legal rights.
- To professional advisers subject to confidentiality duties.
- In connection with a lawful business transfer, with appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
Disclosure is limited to information reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.
9. Storage, Retention, and Removal
Local documents, settings, and generated files remain on your device according to your actions and the Application’s storage behavior.
You can remove local information through available deletion controls, device storage settings, or a file manager. Uninstalling an Application may leave files saved in shared storage, exported copies, or backups maintained by your device provider.
Support records are retained while an inquiry is active and for any additional period reasonably needed to address related issues or legal obligations.
Retention of diagnostic and analytics information depends on the configured service period, troubleshooting needs, and whether the information remains identifiable. Information is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed.
Records required for a dispute, security investigation, or legal obligation are retained only for the relevant purpose and period.
10. Requests About Your Information
The Applications covered by this policy do not require a developer-hosted user account. There is therefore no such account to close.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information held directly by us through the contact address in the opening sentence.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal concerning a privacy decision.
We may request limited verification necessary to identify the relevant records and protect them from unauthorized disclosure. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any lawful reason for declining part of a request.
You may also contact the data-protection authority responsible for your location.
11. Safeguards and International Processing
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved, including access restrictions and protected transmission of personal information over networks.
No electronic system provides absolute security. Device access controls and careful selection of sharing destinations help protect your information.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Where international-transfer restrictions apply, an appropriate lawful mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or contractual safeguards, is used. You may request information about relevant safeguards through the contact method above.
12. Children
The Applications covered by this policy are not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances that violate applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Any additional parental-authorization requirements imposed by local law also apply.
13. Specific Notices and Changes
A feature may display an additional notice explaining its particular information use. Such a notice supplements this policy and does not replace required permission or consent procedures.
We may revise this policy when our Applications or information practices change. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice, and any legally required consent will be obtained before the relevant new processing begins.
