Hello!
I am an Associate Professor in the Greenberg School of Risk Management at St. John's University. My research interests include catastrophe risk management, insurance economics, earthquake insurance, and climate and disaster risk modeling. My teaching interests include statistics as well as general risk management and decision-making. I enjoy sharing my passion for understanding risk, uncertainty, probability, and statistics with my students, both in historical context and through everyday applications.
I grew up in Shenzhen, China, which is right next to Hong Kong. I received my Ph.D. in Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance (with minor in Economics) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and my B.A. in Economics and Statistics from Peking University, Beijing.
