Xiafei Wang, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

School of Social Work

Syracuse University

I am currently an Assistant Professor in School of Social Work at Syracuse University and an honorific Research Scientist at the Life Path Research Center.

My research focuses on intergenerational trauma transmission and resilience development for trauma-affected individuals and families. I also explore various moderating factors of trauma and resilience, such as race, gender, disability, and military experiences. I am keen on using the knowledge gained in my research to inform culturally responsive program development and evaluation. See more details on my research page!

I teach Human Behavior and Social Environment, Human Diversity in Social Context, and Program Evaluation at Syracuse University (SU). I am enthusiastic about engaging students in my classroom in both in-person and online settings. My teaching of the Human Diversity course was featured in an SU news article in 2020.
