Xfsprogs Download ((FREE))

I was just watching Ubuntu installer do its thing, and it said "completely removed xfsprogs". I'm just wondering why it installed it? This is a clean install. is xfsprogs part of the installer (Mate 15.04)?

I just saw that there's a newer version so I downloaded xfsprogs-4.19.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz from -core-x86_64/xfsprogs-4.19.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz.html. I'm not well versed in Linux or FreeBSD line commands so I'm probably better off waiting for the next release of unRAID with the fix. Any idea when it will be released?

Quick and easy solution, If the RHEL 6 installer can create and format the XFS file systems during the install, you would have to think that the packages are on the DVD, right? Yes, you would be correct. If you mount the RHEL 6 DVD ISO you will see a \ScalableFileSystem directory with the packages you need. You can copy the packages that you need to another location or install them from the ISO. I usually install all three at once because xfsdump has a dependency on xfsprogs.

I don't have the device mounted and the only daemon that was accessing it was samba and I stopped that, but it still won't run. I saw someone recommended running strace and look at the errors which mentioned a lot of of errors about xfsprogs.mo no being found.

Quick google search shows a known bug which can be resolved with the latest version of xfsprogs and running xfs_repair. so my question is basically how do I get the patched version of xfsprogs onto the system to be able to repair the volume? This is an EFI installation and standard partitions, not LVM. All partitions (except EFI) are XFS. No other kernels will get me into a working system. 4.4.5 gets me to emergency mode, 4.3.x gets me into another non-single user mode.

Since nobody had any help here, I burned the current Live disc, which had a newer kernel and the patched version of xfsprogs. From the live disc, I was able to run xfs_repair and resolve the issues. this still failed to emergency mode, but I was able to then run xfs_repair from the native install, which allowed me to get back into the system.

It was discovered that the xfs_metadump tool of the xfsprogs suite did not fully adhere to the standards of obfuscation described in its man page. In case a user with the necessary privileges used xfs_metadump and relied on the advertised obfuscation, the generated data could contain unexpected traces of potentially sensitive information. 2351a5e196
