xer0conf is the most up-to-date OS that uses the latest stable kernel and is Ubuntu at heart. On top of it, a very carefully selected apps, window manager, panel and other components have been included to ensure maximum performance and less or no cluttered applications bundled in this.
While the choice of packages may differ from one person to another, you are free to add/install any other package that you wish to and/or remove an existing application(s) that is/are pre-installed and configured with this compilation.

I just wanted to have the latest and most up-to-date OS with each application in its newest release and it seemed like a never ending job.
The sole purpose of customizing this OS was to cut down the time, effort, hassle and hustle to re-install and re-configure the applications, utilities, updates etc, and so that once the OS is installed there is no need to configure any extra parameter and needs zero configuration. That's why the name xer0conf

It is an outcome of a lot of spadework. It is a melange of power, simplicity, performance, versatility, flexible, multifaceted and adaptive nature. It is absolutely protean! You could transform it into a full blown gaming console or a centralized media center or a development platform or virtually a lab for those studying for different IT certifications. The focus has been to build a complete out-of-the-box and ready-to-go OS platform.
This is a customized Ubuntu operating system and comes with no guarantee or no warranty of any sort.
The individual / people / team / organization who customized it aren't the real owners nor own any of the files, applications, fonts, wallpapers or any file on this OS except the custom scripts present in /usr/local/bin/ besides other scripts (if any) written by their respective owners.
Using this OS is not recommended for production network / enterprise network as few of the applications may already have or may in future modify their code to collect stats, sync files on remote servers, in which case, it is totally the responsibility and liability of the person installing and using it.
While this OS has been extensively tested on few of our personal computers, laptops, on virtual machines, VPS etc there is no guarantee it will work exactly or even close to the iota of what it is built / customized for, nor we provide any support.
For the common problems, please go to the official Ubuntu forums. While the terms of customizing and distributing Ubuntu based distro clearly mentions on Ubuntu's website that no support related to it shall be entertained, we still assure that you could find solution from Ubuntu Forums if you run into problems, as no part of the Ubuntu's original OS has been modified except any default configuration files which are mentioned here
Use it at your own risk.
Update regularly to stay safe from bugs / vulnerabilities. Also regular updates ensure security patches, performance tweaks, driver updates etc.
While we have already run anti-virus scans at our end, there is no guarantee that this OS is free from malware and it is highly recommended to scan the installed system again on regular basis.

For now, only the previously released versions are available for download. There's no alpha, beta or any other fancy terms used with the development process.
Its a simple, straight process to install the base OS from scratch and install the apps over it and test each app thoroughly before it "seems" to be fully stable.
It is then shared with a handful of its committed and dedicated users from different professional backgrounds, who use it on vivid hardware platforms, from ancient to modern desktops, laptops and ultra-books, for at least a week before they come up with a specific problem they face with their routine tasks.
Meanwhile, it is also run on multiple virtual environments to verify if each app can perform the promised task(s).
Once all of it seems good to go, only then it is shared for public use. So, it is suggested to use the currently available version, so that you get the hang of the OS and it shouldn't take longer to make the next version available.
