Welcome to the official CPD Trading Card Game. Now this game doesn't have official cards released. However you can play this game with any card that is about 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. All you need to pay attention in this game is the card itself. Everything else can be ignored. This is supposed to be a simple game that can apply to any kind of trading card. So you could play baseball cards and Pokemon cards in one game.
Before the game starts you can choose to use one of your cards as a commander. These cards are automatically summoned at the start of the turn and are positioned next to your deck. You can choose what ability you want your commander to have. Think of them as extra players that your opponents can attack. There are several types of commanders that alter the battlefield listed below.
Each player starts out with 20 Life Points
You can have anywhere from 40 to 100 cards in your deck.
You can have 4 cards of the same copy.
The player loses the game from either running out of cards to draw or running out of Life Points.
You can draw 7 cards on your first turn.
The person going first cannot distribute stats on their first turn.
AP = Attack Power
HP = Health Points
Discard Pile = Where cards go when they run out of HP
Life Points = How much health the player has before dying. If you die you lose the game.
How combat works is that can use cards that are under your control to attack your opponent's life points or your opponent's creatures. The opponent can choose to defend themself by blocking the attack with their creature. Keep in mind when blocking you need 1 card per card being blocked.
If the attacking player chooses to attack a card you basically subtract each card's Health Points to their opposing card's Attack Power. So if 1 card had the stats of 5AP/4HP and another card had the stats of 2AP/3HP, The 1st card would deal 5 damage to the card with 3HP. While the card with 3HP would deal 2 damage to the 1st card.
You subtract the defending player's Life Points from the attacking card's AP
The defending player can use whatever card they want to initiate card/card combat with the attacking card.
For every card that you control on the battlefield is how many stat points you can distribute among your cards. You can either make many of your cards stronger, just 1 card, or perhaps a few. Each card has a base stat of 1HP and 1 AP. Which you can increase during you or your opponent's heal phase based on how many card you have.
Once every 3 turns if you have no cards on the battlefield you can summon cards from your deck directly that is of equal force of your opponent's cards. This means if your opponents have 4 cards with 1HP and 1AP then you also summon 4 cards with that same stats.
This phase allows you to draw 2 cards from your main deck.
This phase is for every card on the battlefield that you control you can choose to distribute stats. For every card on the battlefield you can increase a stat by 1 or either HP or AP. Both players can do this at the same time. All of the cards on the battlefield restore HP to full during this Phase.
This phase is where you can place up to 2 cards onto the battlefield under your control. You can only do this on your turn. These cards have a base stat of 1 AP and 1 HP.
When you attack you can attack either your opponent's cards or your opponent's life points. If your cards die it goes into the discard pile and is removed for the rest of the game.
This is where you count up all of the loses and gains and end your turn.
